Mouse Armour - 1/35 scale

MA120 ASLAV APC (Phase 2) in its basic configuration with 50 calibre machine gun on the commander's cupola. This is the configuration as used in Timor and early Iraq.

The conversion comes with pewter brushguards and a photo etch fret.  A 50 cal machine gun is not provided.

Note that the hubs are MA121 parts below. 

The 50 cal weapons station can be updated to include the Kongsberg RWS with MA122 below to make it into an Iraq version that has been used for most of the war.

MA121 is a replacement hub for the Trumpeter XML tyre set (8).  The Trumpeter tyre set is very good but represents a USMC SLEP hub which the Australian Army does not use.

MA122 ADI RWS Mount and update

The current Kongsberg Remote Weapons station (RWS) used by the Australian Army is a later version that the one produced by AFV Club.  We have produced an update set that includes: four blanking plates for the smoke dischargers, front and rear spent brass and link bags, laser range finder and sunshade as well as Laser range finder and camera lens covers.

MA123 Seal Solutions RWS Mount and update

This is a mount used by ASLAV Type 2 (APC variants) and Type 3 (Recovery / fitters) hulled vehicles.  This image and the one above show the AFV Club RWS used as a basis. This is not supplied by Mouse Armour.

The image shows the Seal Solutions mount installed over the replacement engine deck provided as part of the Mouse Armour ASLAV conversion sets.

MA124 XML spare tyre (1)

A spare tyre that can be fitted to an ASLAV 25 by using MA116

Alternatively two XML tyres are often lashed down over the large rear hatch on ASLAV APC (type II hulls)

 

MA126 Australian Abrams AIM update set (for Dragon M1A2 SEP kit)
The SEP kit was chosen as a base because it has more appropriate plastic parts (tracks, wind sensors, sprockets, Rear baskets) to make an Australian version.  It is easier to backdate the SEP kit than update the AIM kit.

MA128 Australian LAV-R update set

One LAV-R  (as made by Trumpeter) was trailed by the Australian Army in 1990-91 with 14 LAV-25s.  The Australian Army modified the ex-USMC LAV-R by adding additional stowage and by carrying additional water jerrycans and stowage boxes.  The update set is based on images seen in the book "Battlegroup Leopard" during Exercises at the Mount Bundy Training Ground NT.

MA129 ASLAV APC Phase 3 upgrade

 

 

 

 

This update set provides the components that make a Phase 2 APC into a Phase 3.  Parts include:

1.  Rotating cupola
2.  Hatch bump stop and brace
3.  Hatch
4.  Hatch locking knob
5.  IVNS aerial
6.  right hand side view mirror mount
7.  GPS and AMU
8.  Cupola turning mechanism blank.
9. Phase 3 trim vane

This Phase 3 hatch is used when ASLAV Phase 3 Type 2 (APC) hulls that are fitted with the MA123 Seal Solutions RWS mount over the engine deck.

A Platt mount 50 calibre mount will be released in the near future which will enable you to make a Phase 3 basic APC without RWS.
