IDF M107 175mm self propelled gun by John Myszka

The IDF received a number of M107s during the 1970s   during the War of Attrition across the Suez Canal.  In the end it is not known how many were actually received but numbers indicate about 140 M107s and 48 M110 203mm SPG.

The IDF modified the M107s in a number of ways:

• welded on metal strips across the front of the vehicle to reduce slipping
• a pintle mounted 30 calibre machine gun
• a large stowage box on the front right over the tracks
• an improved ballistic computer to replace the US version
• aerials mounted on the top of each trunnion and
• a velocity counter on top of the barrel between the trunnions
