This shows a diesel powered International
Harvester Corporation produced half track. This means that it
started life as an M5 or M9 half track. Diesel half tracks which
are powered by an M113 engine can be identified by the plated over
radiator and twin exhausts which exit just behind the driver's /
passenger's door, below the step. The white "T" with black borders
across the bonnet is also visible.

Rear view of the same vehicle. The metal
bumpers at the rear and flat section front mudguards also indicate that
it is an M5 / M9. The item below the red cross bag is a holding
device for the 120mm mortar plate

A view of the front driver's space.
The IDF 120mm mortar half tracks were always armed with .30 calibre
machines rather that .50 calibre. Another identification point of
the vehicle is the .30 calibre machine gun on the front windscreen.

A good shot of the 120mm mortar and
round.

The right hand side of the half track,
showing one of two rear corner mounted fuel tanks and just forward of
that, an ammunition locker. The left side has the same
arrangement.

A view of the driver's position and
dashboard.

The half track suspension - note the
sprocket in the middle of the rear drive sprocket. The rubber
tracks are basically a rubber band over a metal skeleton.
