The Australian Leopard AS1

A walkaround of an Australian Leopard AS1 taken at the Canberra Show some years ago.  The colours of this vehicle are the standard brown, green and black rather than the shades seen in these images.  DO NOT USE THESE COLOURS AS A GUIDE.

The main changes to the Leopard to make it into an Australian Leopard AS1 are :

• The use of a laser range finder resulting in the left side rangefinder opening being blanked off (image 1)
• The placing of all the tank tools in boxes mounted on the side of the vehicle - 2 bins left side one bin right side (images 2,3 & 4)
• the concentric circle fan beneath the rear engine deck mesh (image 8) as well as the two turret mounted aerials and 1994 vintage jerrycan stowage on the rear of the turret.
• there are minor turret top additions including wind sensor and cage
