Trumpeter 1/35 scale LAV series XML tyres and rims.

Of all the XML tyres on the market that I have inspected Trumpeter has produced the nearest to perfect tyre tread pattern of the original XML tyres. Each raised part of the tyre is correct.  They have captured the side wall detail of the run flat tyre very well.  The rim face (part J1) is also very good.  The whole tyre rim combination is a very good representation of an US Marine Corp Service Life Enhancement Program (SLEP) tyre.

The bad news  for ASLAV fans is that these rims are simply not the correct ones for an Australian ASLAV.  The Australian Army is still using the original tyres with its hub and 8 equally separated bolts.

Mouse Armour has produced an Australian Hub which can be used to replace the Trumpeter part J1 and thus provides another option for putting XML tyres for ASLAVs that is quite economical.  Mouse Armour item MA121 refers.
