Review of Osprey Modelling "Modelling the Matilda Infantry Tank" by Mark Bannerman

The book has 80 pages and covers two 1/76 scale and two 1/35 scale projects.  There is also one in each scale which is a walkaround of a completed Matilda.  there is also the scratch building of a German Oswald which is a captured Matilda hull with a 5cm gun with gun shield in the turret ring.

There is a walkaround of an Australian Matilda Frog with most photos taken by our own roving reporter Michael Grieve.

The end of the book has a list of museums, books, websites, kits and accessories. The rear page is a set of paint chips of the colours referred in the conversion articles.

A few vehicles are covered in depth as conversion and detailing projects using most of the available conversion bits and pieces.  The book is worth the $$ to see how other modellers do their craft and many tips and techniques can be picked up and applied to your modelling.

What seems to be missing from this series of books is an assessment of the kits available and their accuracy to the basic model. it would have been good for someone to spend the time to do a correction on the basic kit.
